Pharrel never fails to impress us with his fresh footwear designs. Teaming up with Adidas once again, the fashion sneaker genius opts to revamp the iconic Superstar shoe.
Leonardo Di Vinci once said, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” One thing we know for sure is, this Pharrel x Adidas collab is the most extensive in choice yet simple sneaker pack to launch in history till date, giving sneaker-heads a whopping 50 mono colours to choose from.
Today, the term superstar is highly associated with social hierarchy and financial status, but one would argue a “Superstar” is in the eye of the beholder. The aim of this collaboration is to create equality through diversity in the sense that we can all be superstars regardless of size and/or colour; in the literal sense of joining the movement by copping a pair, and metaphorically, relative to perceptions and goals.
Following up to the drop of the much loved Superstar Adidas trainer, the Adidas team also happened to launch a marketing campaign featuring Pharrel Williams, David Beckam and Rita Ora, questioning what it is to be a superstar. Check it out here:
The Adidas Superstar Supercolour pack launches on Friday 27th March: 50 lush colours of the classic Superstar sneaker to choose from, priced at just £67. What’s your flavour?
